William Simpson, LGSW
Hi, I’m Will. I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in Washington, D.C., and I work with children, teens, young adults, and adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, identity development, and major life transitions. My experience in school-based counseling, youth mentorship, and private practice therapy has shaped the way I understand people: as resilient, complex, and capable of meaningful growth.
My style is warm, grounded, and relational. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools for change, so I work intentionally to create a space where you feel respected, understood, and able to show up as your full self. I draw from person-centered therapy, strengths-based approaches, motivational interviewing, and CBT to help you explore patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools for emotional resilience. Clients often describe therapy with me as thoughtful and steady, with a balance of empathy, curiosity, and actionable skill-building.
I especially enjoy supporting teens and young adults who are navigating emotional overwhelm, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and transitions that come with growing into adulthood. Whether you're working to manage anxiety, heal from loss, or break recurring patterns, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to the person you're becoming.
If you’re ready to explore your experiences with someone who listens closely and helps you understand yourself in a new way, I’m here to offer steady guidance and a space where you can grow into who you’re becoming.
