Michaela Gulachek, LGSW, LMSW
Hi, I’m Michaela. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in Maryland and a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in Washington, D.C., and I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and significant life stressors. My background includes clinical work in school-based programs and intensive outpatient settings, which has shaped how I understand mental health: not as a single issue, but as something influenced by our environments, histories, and the stories we tell ourselves.
My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and deeply collaborative. I integrate CBT, DBT skills, person-centered therapy, solution-focused work, and trauma-informed care to help you build insight, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with parts of your life that may have felt disconnected or difficult to access. I value curiosity, transparency, and pacing, and clients often describe therapy with me as a space where they can reflect freely while also developing practical tools they can use day to day.
I especially enjoy working with clients who feel ready to examine areas of their lives they’ve avoided or felt unsure about. Whether you’re navigating long-standing emotional patterns, adjusting to major changes, rebuilding after loss, or working toward a life that feels more balanced and meaningful, my goal is to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will help you explore your experiences with intention and build skills that support real, sustainable change, I’m here to walk that process with you.
