Kiona Bean, LPC
Hi, I’m Kiona. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Washington, D.C., with more than thirteen years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through emotional and behavioral challenges. My background spans school settings, community mental health, and outpatient therapy, and these experiences have shaped my belief that people can grow at any stage of life when they have the right tools and a supportive relationship.
My approach is direct, compassionate, and grounded in skill-building. I integrate CBT, psychoeducation, and behavioral strategies to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and habits influence one another. Clients often describe therapy with me as structured but warm — a space where you can gain clarity, practice coping skills, and make steady progress toward your goals. Whether you’re working through anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, or life transitions, I tailor sessions to what feels most relevant and helpful for you.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages and am particularly passionate about helping individuals identify patterns that may be holding them back. My belief is that growth is always possible, and I focus on helping you build the emotional awareness and practical tools needed to move toward the version of yourself you want to become.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will support you with honesty, consistency, and practical guidance, I would be glad to begin this work together.
