Bezawit (Beza) Addis, LPC

Hi, I’m Beza. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Washington, D.C., and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, and I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating depression, anxiety, intergenerational trauma, relationship challenges, identity concerns, addiction, and behavioral patterns that feel difficult to break. My background spans outpatient clinics, addiction treatment settings, and psychiatric units within correctional facilities, which has shaped the way I understand resilience, healing, and the many ways people learn to protect themselves.

My therapeutic style is intentional, compassionate, and insight-driven. I help clients notice and understand the emotional and behavioral patterns that influence their relationships and daily lives. In our work together, I draw from mindfulness-based emotional processing, CBT, strengths-based approaches, and trauma-informed practices to support you in developing self-awareness, coping skills, and more grounded ways of responding to stress. Clients often describe therapy with me as steadying and clarifying, with space for both reflection and practical change.

I am particularly drawn to supporting individuals who are carrying the weight of family history, cultural expectations, shame, or cycles they feel ready to break. Whether you’re rebuilding after difficult experiences, navigating conflict, or trying to reconnect with your sense of self, I approach the work with deep respect for your strengths and the complexities of your story.

If you’re looking for a therapist who will help you understand your patterns while building the tools to create something different, I’m here to support you through that process with care and consistency.
