Thomas Turnbaugh, LICSW

Thomas Turnbaugh is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland and Washington D.C. He received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work with a specialization in mental health from the University of Maryland School of Social Work.


Thomas has worked in the field of social work for nineteen years, working with adults who suffer from depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, life adjustments, lgbtqia+ issues,  and adjustment to illness due to medical conditions . He blends elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused, prolonged exposure (PE), and psychoeducation in order to meet client objectives.


Thomas works to build a therapeutic alliance to meet you where you are at. He believes that therapy is a way to grow and can change your life for the positive.
